Hope to see you there.

The pictures say it all, really…

It might not be permanent, but then that’s true of life, I guess, but for the foreseeable future the Valvolines are on hold.

So, welcome The Valves, a pared-down, more acoustic (perhaps) duo who rework some old favourites and add some new tunes for their debut live gig at Rocklands School in Lichfield on Saturday 12 November. They’ll be more details soon, but I’m assuming it starts about 8pm.

It’s a fund raiser for the school and The Grateful Dads and another band will be the big acts. Would be good to see you there…

Gig cancelled

Sadly we have had to cancel the gig at the The Crown in Heather on Saturday 15 October.

Mucho apologias.

Valvolines activity will be on hold for the next few months, after which time we hope to announce some new developments… could be new members, could be a new direction.

We don’t know yet.

We’ll tell you when we do.

It’s big, it’s red and it’s Phil Valvoline’s

The Mystery looking cheerful - ie before he locked his keys in the boot of his car.

Following a storming second gig at The Crown in Heather, Leics, in late January, The Valvolines are booked to play there again.

The dates are:

Saturday 18 June 2011

Saturday 15 October 2011

Maybe at these gigs The Mystery won’t lock his keys in the boot of his car. My, my! It was freezing out there in the early hours…

We’ll be adding more dates at other venues in the coming weeks, so if you go away, don’t go too far!

The Valvolines are back at The Crown in Heather, Leicestershire, on Saturday 29 January. Our last gig there was a great success. Please join us for this one.

Here is all the action, all the colour, all the movement, with fulsome thanks to Mick, who manned the sound desk and the camera (who says a man can’t multi-task!)

Pre-Haloween gig

The Valvolines play their first gig in the Midlands on Saturday 30 October at the Crown Inn, Main Street, Heather, nr Coalville, Leicestershire. Here’s an opportunity for long-suffering fans of the former Sleaze Brothers, Phil, Dave and Pete, to hear just how good a smaller, leaner machine can sound, especially with the addition of a new secret weapon, The Mystery Guest on drums.

The band has been working hard for longer than they all care to remember, fine-tuning their blues-rock sound and adding just the right amount of grease. Now it’s free revving and raring to go. This is a great biker-friendly venue. Hope to see you all there. For more information about the pub, call Frog on 01530 264423. Set your satnav to LE67 2QP to get you there. Phil switches to overdrive at about 8.30pm.
